Scott Hamilton, CPA, and partner, is the national practice leader of the Research & Development (R&D) Group. Based in the Los Angeles office, he has over 18 years of experience as a corporate tax advisor. Scott has significant experience serving publicly traded and closely held companies that have operations in multiple international and domestic locations. His expertise is R&D tax credit, and he has assisted clients with IRS and state audit matters. Scott’s technical specialties include Orphan Drug credits, Section 174 and Section 199 deductions, Tangible Property Regulations, Cost Segregation, Fixed Asset Outsourcing, and M&E deductions. His experience includes various public and private companies across numerous industries, including manufacturing, medical and life sciences, software development, gaming, and high technology. Before joining CohnReznick, Scott was a managing director at a top ten accounting firm. His practice focused on the R&D tax credit within the firm’s federal tax consulting group. This group focused on accounting methods and periods, R&D tax credits, fixed asset consulting domestic production activities deduction, and other similar tax consulting services.
